Blue Mudd is a brand born out of the Financing New Ventures course at Pratt Institute. The project team identified a business opportunity in the form of solar tents to be rented to music festival goers. Fests such as Bonnaroo and Coachelle generate billions in revenues each year and welcome a large concert going crowd who choose to camp on their grounds.The team successfully established a business plan that would partner with the festivals to rent Orange Solar Tents to concert goers at tiered ticket prices. The team calculated profitability benchmarks, established organizational charts, wrote strategies for financing the venture, and established a complete brand for the new company.
